The Baltimore Federal Executive Board's Excellence in Federal Career honors the best of the best General Service (GS), Wage Grade (WG) and employees nominated from over 130 federal agencies and installations within the State of Maryland.  This program also recognizes those in The Senior Executive Service (SES).  Each year over 240  Gold, Silver and Bronze awards are presented and features the U.S. Coast Guard Baltimore area Color Guard and a guest speaker.  Other details on the program are available from the awards coordinator in your agency.

This year's theme is "Serving the Beloved Community to Empower our Next Generation."

 

The cost is only $50, and includes this wonderful program and a brunch. The event features speakers from multiple religious leaders speaking on Dr. King's Beloved Community concept, table topics and an open forum to share and discuss ideas with audience. This event was a direct result of an Executive Order by President Barack H. Obama that mandated that federal agencies interact with the community and religious leaders in their communities at places of workshop in the cities where FEBs reside.

...for the 2016 Excellence in Federal Career (EIFC) Awards Program sponsored by the Baltimore Federal Executive Board (FEB) in conjunction with Public Service Recognition Week!

 

Please submit your nominations to the Federal Executive Board for the 2016 EIFC Program by January 13, 2016 (no extensions).  The nomination instructions and the form in both Word and PDF is attached.  Beginning with the 2016 program (for job performance in 2015); those working in the SES Program may be nominated. 

 

 

Please note that the instructions are divided into Section 1 for  GS and WG employees and Section 2 for SES.  The nomination form construct is the same for GS, WG and SES.

If You Missed our 33rd Annual Federal Women's Council Program Last Week, You Missed an Outstanding Event!

 

On Tuesday, March 31, 2015, the Baltimore Federal Executive Board/Federal Women’s Council hosted its 33rd Annual Employee Training Development and Awards Program at The Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) in Linthicum, Maryland.

 

The event included two dynamic keynote speakers, Ms. Carolyn W. Colvin, Acting Commissioner for Social Security Administration and Dr. Michelle Gourdine, CEO Gourdine Associates.

 

Special guests who brought greetings included The Honorable Donna Edwards, and representatives from Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger’s and Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Jr.’s offices, and Commander Patrick Dozier, Chair of the Federal Executive Board.

 

The program featured workshops from outstanding presenters and presentations of awards to the Outstanding Woman of the Year and the Outstanding Organization of the Year. Workshops included were, Financial Planning for Women, How Do I Look on Paper, 8 Habits of Highly Successful Women, Grammar and Clear Writing, and Developing Dynamic Women in Leadership.

The event was well received and many went home excited and thanking the Federal Women’s Council members for putting on such a rewarding program and expressing anticipation for next year’s program. Some even expressed an interest in joining the Council.
